A fine wine results from the transformation that takes place when grapes are crushed.
Diamonds are transformed from carbon deep beneath the earths surface as a result of tremendous pressure and very high heat.
Olive oil, long a staple of fine cooking practices, is derived from olives being pressed in an olive press, a transformation which renders the olive into pulp.
Seeds grow in darkness, under the soil, but are soon transformed into beautiful flowers and trees for all to see.

We Humans

We humans could well be likened to grapes of the vine, rich deep deposits of carbon, olives being plucked from the tree, and seed surrounded by dirt. Don’t we often feel crushed, or under great pressure and fire, unduly pressed, or even in a unyielding darkness where we sense there is nowhere to go? Some reactions to those feelings are often despair, confusion, lost of hope, a lack of joy. Often the last thing we want to hear during those times is that God’s got you. But he does! Because it is during those very times when we are in a powerful place of transformation within ourselves. It is during such times that God transforms our hearts. We trust that the seeds we plant in the soil, those seeds that grow in darkness, will produce the beautiful flowers we will soon see. We need to trust that God will be at work in our darkness to transform our hearts into something more beautiful.

“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

That, my friends, is transformation. All we need to do is to trust the process.”

Ezekiel 36:26 ESV

That, my friends, is transformation. All we need to do is to trust the process.
